ART + ALCHEMY premieres the Crystal Nebula—a new, modular lighting system, featuring Crystals from Swarovski® at the A. Rudin showroom at the D&D Building during Spring Market on May 22nd in New York City.
Unique in the world of lighting, the Crystal Nebula is part illuminated wall art, part functional lighting, with a versatility previously unseen. With the ability to go from wall sconce, to climbing a wall up onto the ceiling, to cornering adjacent wall surfaces, and even wrapping around a column, the Crystal Nebula becomes a part of the very space it is in.
According to Director of Design, David Kitts, “We developed the Nebula for the designers who wanted something they could have fun with. From color to size to application, there are thousands of configurations and looks that can be created with the Crystal Nebula system to make it your own.”
A single “hub” can power up to 40 dimmable LED crystals, with a breadth of artistic customization in the placement of the Nebula’s sculptural metal forms. “Hubs” and crystals maybe be added, creating a modular lighting system that can go on and on…down hallways and corridors, from wall-to-wall in a space…its personalization is unlimited.
It started by creating the ability to create a wall or ceiling installation (or both) that could grow and sprawl without the use of wires. Andy Morter, Design Developer for the Crystal Nebula, explains “This allows for the ability to change and adapt the fixture configuration to work within the architectural perimeters of space without a complex system of wireways.” He continues, “The light and shadow effects that project onto the wall are created by the reflections from the led within the crystal. Design is endless as the conductive plates can be customized to be any shape and available in mixed finishes.”
ART + ALCHEMY, an atelier lighting brand that prides itself on exquisite design and innovative use of materials and technology, found the perfect partner in Swarovski, the leader in sustainable luxury. Renowned for its sculptural designs, the quality of materials, and its refined hand-finishes, designers at ART + ALCHEMY seek to create one-of-kind lighting for every interior, whether intimate or grand.
